Are you frightened of the dentist?

Or are you brave?

Well.......

Cherie 13-09-2021 03:52 PM

Nope

Crimson Dynamo 13-09-2021 03:54 PM

Only of the pain in my wallet

AnnieK 13-09-2021 03:55 PM

Nope.....I had an accident when I was a kid and ended up needing a lot of dental work so that took any fear away.

The opticians on the other hand I hate...

Alf 13-09-2021 03:59 PM

I don't like the dentists, but I'm not scared of going. I do need to go and make an appointment as it happens because one of my teeth snapped in half eating a sweet, and I just left it, but now it's starting to give me on and off toothache. I'll get around to that one day.

Alf 13-09-2021 04:00 PM

Remember the gas as a kid? That was horrible.

Yeah...it was. I woke up after one treatment with no shoes on....apparently I fought them when they were putting me under and kept kicking the nurse

It'd space you out for the rest of the day, And you keeped getting the smell.

I always remember the walk homes after having teeth taken out. Spaced out with a mouthful of blood. My mam would put a scarf around my mouth so the cold didn't get in.

When my son was younger he shoved a bead up his nose at school and ended up in hospital to have it removed as they couldn't get at it. He went bat **** crazy when they came at him to put a canula in so decided to gas him. I was with him when they put him under and the Doctor said, "in 5 seconds he'll start to fight it" right on cue he did. Was awful watching it...but the doctor said everyone does it

There was a plus point though, you got the day of school and you could sit and watch the telly all day.

Not frightened ,but the whole inspecting of the teeth and deep cleaning is vigorous / uncomfortable, and I'm always happy when it's over.

joeysteele 13-09-2021 08:45 PM

I'm not frightened BUT then I've never had any major dental work done as an adult or kid... and I think it's bad childhood experiences that make people scared of them? Most I've ever had is a filling in a baby tooth. My second-from-the-back molar on the right has been a bit achey on and off for a couple of weeks though. I can't visibly see any reason for it so I'm probably going to have to get it checked out. Maybe I'll be scared of dentists after that.

Oh same, anything eye related terrifies me. Dentist is fine, I mean I don't love it but I'm not scared going there

I haven't had anything major done either, not even a filling. I was there yesterday though and I had to get a local anesthetic injection into my gum because she wanted to deep clean one of my back teeth, honestly wasn't even that bad

Cherie 16-09-2021 08:43 AM

When they flick back your eye lid :skull: Horrible!
