"Russia is the usual avenue we take" .

"Quite right, let's pin it on Russia"

FFS My energy bills already went up 40% last month when my fixed tariff ended :fist:. Though my bills are like 80% electricity. We seem to use like 2x the average for a house of the same size .

I think it's actually the heated airer... it's on 24/7 from October - late April... the stream of clothes that need drying is endless though. ENDLESS. It doesn't make sense, I'm convinced we wash more clothes than can possibly be being worn.

What I pay is going up 40% soon also.

Compare the Market didn't help much this time.

I use a washing line whenever possible now. Apparently you save 60p each time.

Get cold up in Scotland, does it?

I had to do a switch even to get just a 40% increase - my old supplier was wanting to double it!

My house is well insulated but that’s half the issue for clothes in winter. Can’t put them outside because it’s too cold/wet, but if I have the central heating on for more than a couple of hours the house gets too hot, so so can’t dry stuff on radiators either. So the heated aired is the only option and I think it probably costs a fortune. Like £50/month :umm2:.

electricity has increased massively over the last few years. I used to blaze out the old 60w and 100w lightbulbs all over the house without a thought. Now i have led lighting everywhere and my electric is still 3 times the cost of my gas

Lighting is cheap as chips these days (with the 5 to 10w bulbs), like £10/year if you had a main light on 24/7. In my house it's things like desktop PC, Playstation, TV, other electronics constantly on charge (although things like laptops and phones don't use all that much usually) and the dreaded heated airer. Plus the washing machine itself tbf which runs like 2x a day :umm2:. We've also had massive industrial-sized fans running all summer.

I keep going with small suppliers, and they keep going bust, and they keep getting transferred to ****ing EDF. I was with EDF before I started switching to small suppliers! They tried to tell me my annual Gas & Electricity combined estimate was £4000+ a year, for a family of 4 in a semi-detached  and set my direct debit as something like £370 a month! I don't want to be with bloody EDF! :fist: Why are they forcing me to always go back.
