USA has Apologised for the Error Drone Attack in Kabul

Last Night

Pentagon admits Kabul drone strike that killed
10 civilians, including up to 7 children,
was a 'tragic mistake'

https://news.sky.com/story/pentagon-...stake-12410757

About time, they said Sorry in Full.

["As the combatant commander,
I am fully responsible for this strike and this tragic outcome."
He offered his "profound condolences" to the
families and friends of those who were killed,
adding that the Pentagon is considering reparations.]

joeysteele 18-09-2021 07:09 AM

They're not getting much right at present it seems.
Shocking this is.

Beso 18-09-2021 08:23 AM

Making the taliban great again

Alf 18-09-2021 08:42 AM

Was the apology accepted?

Alf 18-09-2021 08:45 AM

If I or anyone else here had drone striked and killed 10 including 7 children. I bet we wouldn't get away with just saying "sorry"

Let us know when the arrests happen.

What if the family would prefer justice in a court of law? Do the family get a say in the matter?

No they get Cash
and a Sorry.

The Car had Large Water bottles
in it, not bombs

Alf 18-09-2021 08:55 AM

How much money is compensation for having your child murdered? Does somebody in authority get to decide that?

joeysteele 18-09-2021 09:26 AM

Sorry doesn't always make it right.
As Diana Ross sang.

Amazing a hollow apology for such a tragic loss of lives error is all it takes.
Where are the, or any, prosecutions.

Oliver_W 18-09-2021 09:26 AM

We have to remember the alternative was a guy who allegedly encouraged a bunch of idiots to run around a government building, so things like this are acceptable losses.

They mistook water bottles being loaded into the boot as explosives ...they are sorry though...youngest killed was just 2...and they are ‘considering’ financial reparation ....

not supposed to laugh, but mistaking water bottles for explosives is real amateur for sure

also a sorry and some money doesn't bring back those killed to their families either

The Killer drone is high up in the sky
the Plastic water bottles, 5 Litre size
had dirt on them, so not so clear
for the operator to work out.

Mystic Mock 18-09-2021 03:54 PM

So this guy isn't getting prosecuted?

Niamh. 18-09-2021 04:11 PM

Oh they apologised? That's alright then :/

If you are looking for someone to blame for this blame the Taliban

they are responsible for the deaths

No it was the Terrorist Group IsisK
the Taliban did not know they were going to
put suicide bombers at the gates.
That killed some USA Troops.
And a Mass of locals .

The USA was in a Panic
of another attack.

USA Killer Drone Operator
will be removed from duty
after that Rushed USA Bombing Error.

President Trump had an opinion and Zuckerberg played at being God with it.

Who's he trying to protect?

The deal with the Taliban for the US withdrawal from Afghanistan was made during the Trump administration... it's true that the withdrawal has been an absolute disaster, and much of that IS on the Biden administration, but demonstrably false to say that "The Biden administration surrendered to the Taliban" - and you have to assume Trump knows that... because it was actually the Trump administration. He's just banking on plenty of people not knowing what the timeline looks like, and exactly when the ball was set rolling.

Don't you think Trump would have dealt with the withdrawl differently to calamity Joe? The withdrawal deal may have been made by Trump, but he didn't get to finish the job, the reigns were apparently handed on to somebody else.
