The 24-hour Global Citizen Live series of concerts on Sept. 25 will feature a star-studded line-up of acts performing in COVID-safe shows spanning six continents. The initial roster for the New York event will feature Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Meek Mill, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Burna Boy, Cyndi Lauper, Jon Batiste and Lang Lang.

The historic show that will air on ABC, ABC News Live, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, TIME, Twitter and more outlets will also host Femi Kuti, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Made Kuti in Lagos, Nigeria and Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, DJ Snake, H.E.R., Black Eyed Peas, Christine and the Queens and Angélique Kidjo playing in Paris, with more locations and performances to be announced later this month.

With additional shows in Rio de Janeiro, London, Seoul, Los Angeles and Sydney, the concerts are slated to raise awareness about issues including climate change, famine and vaccine equity and coincide with the United Nations General Assembly in September, the G20 meeting in October and November's COP26 meetings. The artists will try to rally citizens across the planet to demand that governments, major corporations and philanthropists work together to defend the planet and defeat poverty; support the campaign, earn tickets and take action here.

Among the other previously announced acts slated to appear live or in pre-taped slots are: Adam Lambert, Andrea Bocelli, BTS, Demi Lovato, Duran Duran, Green Day, Hugh Jackman & Deborra-lee Furness, Keith Urban, Lorde, The Lumineers, Metallica, Rag'n'Bone Man, Ricky Martin, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd and Usher.

"Over the last year and a half, we’ve seen music bring communities together and inspire action during one of the most challenging times of our generation,” said Katie Hill, SVP, Head of Music, Entertainment and Artist Relations, Global Citizen in a statement. “We’re excited to join these incredible artists to unite people across the globe on September 25th as we hold world leaders and business leaders accountable to rectify the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As we carefully resume Global Citizen’s live events, we couldn’t be more grateful to each of these artists for donating their time and performances to make an impact through this urgent campaign.”
