BBC Text:
[Land Rover was set on fire and
left outside wildlife campaigner
Chris Packham's front gate,
the Sunday People reports on its front page.]

Any particular reason why he'd be targeted? or was it just a random bit of criminality?

It doesn't sound random, if they're wearing balaclavas then it looks premeditated. Why does he have enimies who'd do that to him?

He was on every news yesterday
saying Royal Land must be open to the Public.
He Demands it!

He has been leading environmental protests, he was at one at Buckingham palace yesterday. So, it's people right to protest back if they so wish, peacefully of course

Chris Packham said he was 'crashed out' in bed

[BBC Springwatch presenter - an avid environmentalist
and animal rights campaigner - was targeted
on Friday night by balaclava-clad thugs
who torched a Land Rover (pictured) outside
his home]

[Two years ago, a group that the Mr Packham
is a part of - Wild Justice Group - helped to force
through a change in the law to do with
the shooting of 16 bird species.
Hunters and farmers were infuriated by the move,
who said they were now unable
to cull crows attacking newborn lambs
or stop pigeons stealing their crops - unless they applied
for individual licenses.
The Government later introduced three
other licences that are almost identical
to the one that was banned,
but they don't apply in some protection zones.
The TV star told The Mirror that he has
stopped telling his partner and
step daughter about more of
the recent hate incidents against him,
calling it the 'same-old, same-old'.]

I think that there have been so many disruptive environmental protests that peoples tolerance for them has severely dropped. Setting fire to things is not right, but people are fed up with the protests

Crimson Dynamo 11-10-2021 12:26 PM

Very scary for him

Livia 11-10-2021 12:30 PM

It's terrorism really. I hope thy catch them soon.

GoldHeart 11-10-2021 05:28 PM

This is seriously worrying & scary, especially when it's his private home / outside his property.

I hope something is done about it .

There’s protesting and then there’s setting a car packed full of petrol on fire in front of somebodies house, Christ.
