I was about 14 or 15 when I first had my cider. I was sick all over.

But I think 18, because that's the legal age although most kids will do it with their friends before that.

16/17

bots 29-10-2021 05:56 PM

14 with parental supervision

Mystic Mock 29-10-2021 05:57 PM

Personally I think 18 is probably the best time to let someone start drinking.

15 I'd say, seemed like drinking house parties started to explode in year 11 at my school, maybe some of the cooler kids were doing it in year 10. My folks would let me take a 4 pack which was all I'd need in those days if I could make sure it was Scrumpy Jack cider

MTVN 29-10-2021 05:59 PM

Lots of European countries you can legally drink in bars at 16

I remeber going top a big uni party when they chose a new Rector when I was 16 at Dundee. Me and my pal could not believe how many drinks were lying around so we were minesweeping all night

I woke up my brother's bath covered in sick

I was so ill - put me off drinking for about a week

Our two were allowed a small glass of champers to toast the new year when they were in their early teens.
Then after they were 16 they could have a little drink with xmas dinner.
Thought it would teach them to drink sensibly.
Silly billy, I forgot they had my genes.

Redway 29-10-2021 06:56 PM

16.

Crimson Dynamo 29-10-2021 06:59 PM

iv said to the boy, stick to 5% - not anything else and you will be fine

I suppose I was around 15 when I started drinking with my friends, my two kids never had much interest, my son is 17 and doesn't drink at all, he trains a lot with his martial arts so that would interfere with it. My daughter didn't drink till she was 18 and tbh she still doesn't drink a lot, she's 21 now and usually only has 2 or 3 drinks when she goes out, very sensible kids, I don't know where I got them from [emoji38]

Ugh I have to be a hypocrite with it really. I started (quite heavily) at 15 but the idea of my daughter (rapidly approaching that age) going to the sort of house parties I was going to at that age… or drinking 1/10 of what I was drinking by 17… ****ing terrifies me. First two years of Uni were pretty rough, too.

At least 18 or if possible never

Alcohol is a toxin, so you are basically poisoning yourself in the belief that you will have a good time.

You think you have a good time in the same way after a few drinks you think you can dance or sing when the answer is clearly no you can’t and you look stupid

But because your brain is being poisoned it gives you the illusion that you can do things better than you can

Denver 29-10-2021 09:08 PM

13 is perfectly fine supervised
