This has been on the news since
the 16th of October.
Some Great News for the family.

[A four-year-old girl missing for
18 days in a remote part of Western Australia
has been found alive and well
in a locked house, police have said.
Cleo Smith disappeared from her family's
tent at a campsite near the town
of Carnarvon on 16 October,
triggering a massive search effort.
Police smashed their way into a locked house
in Carnarvon at 01:00 local time, where they found her.

A 36-year-old man from Carnarvon
is in custody and being questioned by police.

"A police team broke their way into
a locked house... They found little Cleo
in one of the rooms,"
Western Australian Deputy Commissioner
Col Blanch said in a statement on Wednesday.
"One of the officers picked her up into
his arms and asked her 'What's your name?'
She said 'My name is Cleo'," he added.

The four-year-old has now been
reunited with her parents,
who had made desperate and
emotional pleas for Cleo's return
since she vanished.

"Our family is whole again,"
Ellie Smith, Cleo's mother wrote on Instagram.]

[Australian PM Scott Morrison,
who is now heading home after being
in Scotland for the COP26 climate summit,
tweeted that it was "wonderful, relieving news".]

Amazing news. Thank God. X

Hopefully she's too young to understand and she doesn't suffer from long term trauma.

Great news!

Fantastic news, stories like these don't usually end up with a good ending. Hopefully like Alf said she won't be too traumitized by the experience

Hopefully there's no internal injuries , I saw this news story this morning and she looks ok. So glad she's been found.

This is such an uplifting story ! because so many times there is is a very sad end , its so good but has this bloke been beaten up in custody ? Not helpful even if he 'deserves' it ! The courts need to deal with this man not the police .

Amazing that this story has ended with her alive in all honesty, such a relief for the family but sadly they will be affected by this forever. He has still done something truly horrendous to them even if she wasn't physically harmed in any way. They're likely to be anxious to let her out of their sight, probably forever, but definitely for her entire childhood. Nursery, school, kids parties etc... none of those things will be simple for this family now as there will be serious separation anxiety and trauma (hopefully the girl is too little to be badly affected; I mean for the parents)

arista 04-11-2021 10:16 AM

Police have now Charged Kelly aged 36.
