Could you give up buying clothes for a year

We hear alot of cows...and meat eating, but fast fashion has just as much or even more of a detriment to the environment ...so could you?

wait for the poll

Cherie 03-11-2021 11:32 AM

could a good mod correct my spelling mistake and make the poll public please?

Niamh. 03-11-2021 11:32 AM

Definitely, I hate shopping

I can't make the Poll Public after it's posted (presumably because if people had voted thinking it was private then it would be unfair to then make votes public)

Cherie 03-11-2021 11:36 AM

I am going to give it a try, I don't really like shopping either, but online is very tempting...

Easily, no problem.
I think I likely have before anyhow.

Beso 03-11-2021 12:13 PM

I've only bought 2 items since lockdown...new Jean's and new shirt.

Vicky. 03-11-2021 12:30 PM

Yes. Rarely buy new clothes anyway really.

i think its a matter of freedom and i am not a supporter of freedoms being removed.

There comes a point where we have to say is life worth living if we have to give up things that individuals really enjoy.

So, while fashion doesn't impact me i know for sure it affects many, so i would support their right to express themselves as they want to as often as they want.

There should be more effort put in to clothes recycling I think, keep everyone happy

Dogeatdog 03-11-2021 04:25 PM

I think I could since when I buy clothes (and trainers too) I do try and make them last as long as I can.

hijaxers 03-11-2021 05:20 PM

For many years now i have only bought what i need clothes wise when i need it and i'm actually dreading looking for a wedding outfit and have no idea where to start.

GoldHeart 03-11-2021 07:29 PM

Already did , especially in the pandemic  .

Jordan. 03-11-2021 07:34 PM

Hate clothes shopping so I only do it when essential anyway

smudgie 03-11-2021 09:23 PM

Easy.
Shoes are more of a temptation for me.

rusticgal 03-11-2021 09:59 PM

I don’t hate clothes shopping (online shopping anyway) but I’m kind of the same. I literally do one ASOS top-up once a month and that’s my lot. More of my disposable income tends to go on food and drink. I don’t really buy clothes like that.

The fashion student in me should say yes…

But the fashion student in me also says no :shame:
