Star Hobson died in September 2020 from "utterly catastrophic" injuries she received at her home in Keighley, West Yorkshire, with five referrals made to social services in the eight months prior by concerned family and friends.

The partner used to take Star to work (she worked as a security guard) on an industrial estate, and when police when through CCTV footage she had been beaten 21 times

The great grandparents never heard back from social services after the referral

Just read this and am rather upset. Terrible tragedy.

Am appalled.

The women claimed that homophobia and that the partner was from the travelling community was the reason that 5 different people raised concerns...even after the great grandfather sent a video of bruising ...

Who remembers the little black girl that was killed a few years back and the head of social services was in the news because it never should of been allowed to happen

Years later children are still being abused and killed because people are not doing their jobs properly

The father of the mother’ of star killed him self in June over the death of star

OMG,that picture of the bruise is so upsetting,that poor child, evil people

Victoria Climbe I think her name was and that social worker was Shoesmith wasnt it, nothing has moved on has it ? we also got baby P and doubtless lots of others who never make th media.

series case review, after series case review...lessons must be learned etc etc

I think both of these deaths can be attributed to lockdown as it was too easy for these evils to get away with it

Star's grandad (her mum's dad) took his own life on what would have been Star's birthday so he could go and "look after the baby". Heartbreaking....how she was so failed and the wider family were deprived of watching her grown and thrive/

Doubly tragic Annie, bless them both xx
