Outrage Anti Vaxxer Novak Djokovic, Australia has Cancelled his Visa

[Expected to arrive in Melbourne on Wednesday night]

[Novak Djokovic will be "on the next plane home"
if he is unable to provide "acceptable proof"
for a COVID vaccination exemption to
play at the Australian Open,
the country's prime minister has warned.
Australians have called the decision
to give the tennis star a medical
exemption to enter the
country "a slap in the face" after they
endured months of harsh lockdowns.
The number-one ranked player has
repeatedly refused to say whether he
has been jabbed against COVID-19,
and his participation in the Australian Open
was in doubt owing to the
country's strict vaccination requirements.]

i don't think he should be participating when the rules of entry to the country are so strict for everyone else

Cherie 05-01-2022 11:44 AM

He has been very outspoken about not wanting the vax, if they relax the rules for him its a slippery slope

but then he can't win points

Is this the new trend now, putting the word anti-vaxxer in front of peoples name?

What's wrong with just Djokovic? Which is what he was known as this time last year.

Because Arista never goes to the Mosque he will be now known as "Anti-Islam Arista"

This.

I find Djokovic entertaining with his outbursts, but a country shouldn't be changing their usual protocols for him.

But if he isnt taking the vax because he has underlying health issues then surely a country discriminating against him and his disability is not on!!

If he has underlying health issues he will surely be able to prove them and therefore claim exemption. That is all that is being asked - for him to prove he is vaccinated or exempt

Alf 05-01-2022 05:24 PM

If the vaccine doesn't stop you from catching and spreading, which we know it doesn't then what is the issue here with his case? He's equally as likely to catch or spread as a vaccinated tennis player.

Make it make sense because right now it doesn't.

Having read the article it looks a little conflicting as the PM wants to see what his exemption is but the organisers say he has done.....not sure what the situation is but hopefully its all legit and he gets to play. I don't think he'll have a great reception from the Aussies though unless he says what his exemption is. They have experienced the most draconian lock down

Stop Talking Rubbish

World number one tennis player Novak Djokovic's entry to Australia has been delayed over an issue with his visa.

The player arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday, where authorities noticed that his team had made a mistake on his application.

Djokovic is due to play in the Australian Open, after being exempted from vaccination rules.

But his team had not requested a visa that permits medical exemptions for being unvaccinated.

All players and staff at the tournament must be vaccinated or have an exemption granted by an expert independent panel.

Djokovic arrived in Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport on Wednesday and is awaiting a decision. He has not spoken about his vaccination status, but last year he said he was "opposed to vaccination".

The country's border force had sought clarification from the Victorian state government about his visa application, the Melbourne-based Age newspaper reports.

But state government Minister Jaala Pulford tweeted that his application would not be supported. Visa approvals were a matter for the federal government, she added.

Yes Ch4HDnews
just stated, he is held in an Immigration room.
The Prime Minister awaits his proof.
Or he could be sent home.

One lady said if he plays
she will not watch it.

Someone should do a cancel wish game...seems everyones being cancelled these days.

MTVN 05-01-2022 08:39 PM

Outrage at Djokovic is misplaced imo, should really be directed at Australia's hyper-restrictive border controls. Why shouldn't he be able to enter and compete if he can provide negative tests?

yes true ALf

It stops you getting ill and going to hosp but he would go private so what is the worry?

france are doing away with negative tests and make most social events dependent on a vaccine passport. The UAE won't let anyone unvaccinated leave the country. There are some really crazy rules being implemented

bitontheslide 05-01-2022 09:27 PM

his visa has been cancelled, he is being deported tomorrow (thursday)

Like it or not vaccine hesitancy is quite prolific in many parts of the world, if you're hosting one of only four majors then you can't exclude a big chunk of the global population from participating

Letting him get to Melbourne and then cancelling the visa is a total farce as well
