[Marks & Spencer have rebranded
Midget Gems as Mini Gems after
woke protest

Dr Erin Pritchard warned
supermarkets 'midget' is
'a form of hate speech'
Tesco has announced it is
also reviewing the name
of its line of midget gems]

[The change should have happened years ago.
It is easy for people not called
the word to think its removal is
wrong,' Dr Pritchard, who also appeared
in Channel 4's Dating with Dwarfism, said.

She added that she had asked
Amazon to remove novelty items
which use the term but acknowledged
it would not be possible to rename
items no longer in production such
as the MG Midget car or the Daihatsu Midget minivan.]

Not Yorkshire made.

The reason for the name change was not actually because the previous name caused offense, it's because they're only allowed to be called Midget Gems if they're handmade in the traditional way by Yorkshire Midgets.

:joker:

I swear those nutters sit around, trying to think of random things they can accuse of being "hateful".

Silly midget.

Crimson Dynamo 13-01-2022 03:18 PM

So what are you supposed to call a midget these days?

GoldHeart 13-01-2022 03:19 PM

I've never actually heard of these sweets , they look like wine gums.
