School lunch menu only has POTATOES

A primary school in Leicestershire has revealed its new school lunch menu, much to the dissatisfaction of parents

https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/...Uv2.jpg?w=1040

The new, POTATO FILLED menu has been labelled ‘ridiculous’ by frustrated parents who say their kids are now ‘only on a diet of potatoes’

The only variety is the ability to choose between tuna, mayonnaise, and baked beans as a side order.

Richmond Primary School in Hinckley, Leicestershire has claimed the new menu is so bare because of ‘staff shortages’ due to covid infections

Leicestershire County Council was forced to defend the measure, claiming it was ‘temporary’, and a decision ‘not taken lightly’

It added the new menu has been ‘scrupulously reviewed by nutritionists to ensure hot meals are still served each day’

There was no comment on what drinks are now available. Water or potato juice, probably.

What are your thoughts? Should primary school kids as young as 4 be served jacket potatoes daily, or should they, many on free school meals, bring packed lunches instead?

Don't they have a 2nd option in Orange everyday though instead if they want? Chips, rice, pasta?

Too much starch and carbohydrate, what a lazy school menu.

Exactly , it has been approved by dietitians and nutritionists too

Cherie 20-01-2022 12:35 PM

It looks bad the way its been presented they should have interchanged the top optiin with the bottom option to make it look more varied, because when you break it down its one carb a meal

If Ireland had school dinners we might have a repeat of 1845 again

We're not ruled by Britain anymore so we'd be grand

Crimson Dynamo 20-01-2022 02:45 PM

We don’t want the chefs spluttering into the kids food
