MILLIONAIRE Jonathan Durden quit Big Brother last night — after he learnt his gran had died.
The show’s producers called Jon, 49, into the diary room to give him the sad news.

He hugged the others before quietly leaving the house shortly after midnight to be with his family.

Jon’s surprise exit comes after days of speculation that the media exec would quit anyway — to get married.

In the moments before leaving he shared a touching exchange with Brian in the garden, telling him: “You get to know people bleeding quick in here. It’s been a blast.”

Brian replied: “It’s been great having you in here, mate.”

After confirming his plans to leave in the diary room, Jon gathered the others — and said simply: “I’m off.”

He then hugged Liam — who joked: “No offence, mate, but ******* off.”

Jon mustered a smile, and replied: “I’m trying, I’m doing my best.”

Turning to Ziggy, he added: “Ziggy, the partying is still to come.” After Jon had walked out of the house, his fellow housemates spoke of their shock.

Liam said: “It will be mental waking up to him not being here. He was one of the biggest parts of this.”

Talking about the Big Brother experience, Jon told Brian: “We’ve only known each other for two weeks you know, and that was with a week of misunderstandings.

“I mean we’ve only really known each other for a week and a half.

“But this is the nature of this amazing experience.

“You get to know people bleeding fast when you live with them, sleep with them, talk to them and argue with them.

“It’s just really weird s***.”

Jonathan is the second housemate to leave of their own accord this series.

Former headteacher Lesley, 60, walked out admitting she had made a mistake by entering the Channel 4 TV show.

Billi, Shabnam, Seany have all been evicted.

Blonde Emily Parr was booted out for making a racist comment.
