Convicted Paedophile remains a "Lord" : Labours Nazir Ahmed

A 64-year-old former Labour peer
has been found guilty of attempting
to rape a young girl and sexually
assaulting a boy under 11 in the early 1970s.

A woman told Sheffield Crown Court
that Nazir Ahmed,
formerly Lord Ahmed of Rotherham,
attacked her when he was 16 or 17
but she was much younger.
He also assaulted a boy during the same period,
and was found guilty of two counts of
attempted rape and one of buggery.

After the woman went to the police in 2016,
she spoke to the male victim on the phone.

The jury heard a recording of their conversation,
which happened after the man emailed
to say he had "evidence against that paedophile".

Ahmed was charged along with
his two older brothers, Mohammed Farouq, 71,
and Mohammed Tariq, 65,
but both were deemed unfit to stand trial.

He may as well keep the title to match with Prince Andrew

UserSince2005 04-02-2022 01:28 PM

about half of labour peers would be axed if there was any morality in the system.

it requires an act of parliament to remove a lord, its not as simple as saying he is stripped of his title. I'm sure they will get round to it eventually

Yes the Good Lords on Newsnight
said that.

For this Case
they need an Act Of Parliament
I am sure all would agree in that place

They're gonna do a duet together.

And it's gonna be a cover of Kids by Robbie Williams & Kylie.:hehe:

Seriously though what a vile outcome this has been.

We shouldn't be celebrating paedophiles as Lords.

We shouldn't be celebrating paedophiles as Lords.

Nor should we celebrate the Holocaust.

Well no we shouldn't really.

I just don't see how an inappropriate joke is comparable to a paedophile staying as a Lord, but maybe I'm missing something.

It's interesting how it's easy to give these titles out,but it's difficult to 'remove' them when heinous acts have been committed.
