Duke and Duchess of Cambridge News thread.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's spring tour has been confirmed by Buckingham Palace.
Prince William, 39, and Kate, 40, will travel to Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas from 19 to 26 March. It comes after much speculation following the couple's representatives being spotted on Belize's largest island, Ambergris Caye, in January.
The Duke carried out a solo visit to Dubai in the UAE earlier this month, while the Duchess has just completed a two-day trip to Copenhagen in Denmark...

....In what will be their joint overseas tour since 2020, the Cambridges' itinerary will focus on themes connected to The Earthshot Prize, mental health and the importance of early childhood to lifelong outcomes. The couple will meet a wide variety of groups, including children, young people and families, frontline workers, service personnel, leaders from government, business and the charity sector as well as inspiring conservationists, and the early years workforce.

Next Thursday, March 17, marks St Patrick's Day, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be attending the traditional parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot alongside the 1st Battalion Irish Guards, reports The Mirror.
Prince William is Colonel of the Irish Guards and he and Kate have attended the annual event many times together in the past.
Unfortunately, last year's event was scrapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic while the 2020 parade was unable to go ahead as the majority of the regiment was overseas on deployment.

During Thursday's event, Kate will present sprigs of shamrock to the officers and guardsmen, who in turn will issue it along the ranks - a tradition carried out by royal women since 1901.
She will also present the regimental mascot, an Irish Wolf Hound, with his own sprig of shamrock, while William will take the salute during a march-past.

Following the parade, the couple will meet members of the regiment for an official photo and visit the Junior Ranks dining hall, where they will take a toast - no doubt with a pint of traditional Guinness.

I wonder if they will be taking up the governments offer to accommodate Ukrainian refugees in one of their many properties, they've been outspokingly concerned on the matter so I can't see why they wouldn't.

[Did Prince William skip BAFTA because of the war in Ukraine? Duke avoided the 'poor optics' of attending a glitzy showbiz event while war rages by sending a video message
Prince William skipped BAFTA ceremony last night and sent a video message
His absence was put down to 'diary constraints precluding him from attending'
It is also possible the royal was wary of going to the event amid war in Ukraine.
The Duke of Cambridge is expected to join Royal Family at a service today.]

Aka the polite way to decline

He has respect for Ukranians unlike Lady Gaga, and you it seems
Meanwhile Harry claims he can’t come because he doesn’t have security

Meanwhile a pregnant woman has just died in Ukraine because she didn’t have security.

Today Kate Middleton and Prince William have returned to Westminster Abbey for an annual celebration.

The royal couple joined Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Queen Elizabeth's cousin Princess Alexandra at the Commonwealth Day Service on Monday. The service honoring the 54 countries and nations that make up the Commonwealth was held for the first time since being canceled in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic and replaced with a smaller event.

For Kate, 40, and Prince William, 39, it also means a return to the place where they exchanged vows during their April 2011 royal wedding. In December, Westminster Abbey also hosted Kate's first Christmas carol concert, where she even played piano for a performance.

Everyone is saying the same thing about Kate Middleton's glamorous new photos

....Whilst Prince William, Prince Charles and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall all very much looked 10 out of 10, Twitter has been pretty focussed in on Kate Middleton... with one photo in particular really taking centre stage.
Whilst attending the service, the Duchess of Cambridge and future queen consort looked (let's be honest) incredible in a bold azure blue coat dress, complete with matching hat and ringlet curls. The literal picture book image of a princess, if you ask us.

And whilst there are a tonne of amazing snaps of all of the family taken today, one of Kate in particular really stood out to royal fans, who have all been declaring that it looks 'fit to appear on a stamp', which is certainly quite the sentiment...etc.

AnnieK 14-03-2022 09:26 PM

Lol....yes she always looking amazing but what a superficial article which could have actually focused on what today was about....which was the Queens reign and the Commonwealth, not about how Kate looked. Jeez....its as if 70 years means nothing in comparison to a blue hat and coat combo
