Harry H Corbett was the guy who played Harold Steptoe in Steptoe and Son. He added the H to his name because when he became an actor there was already a Harry Corbett (Matthew's dad) who was the Sooty puppeteer, so he added the H to not get mixed up. And here you are mixing them up. He really added the H because back then you wasn't allowed to use the same name as someone else in showbiz. When Harry H Corbett was asked what the H stood for he always said "Hanything" Steptoe and Son would be my specialised subject if I ever went on Mastermind, and that's why I know this. |
And here's another link to Steptoe and Son
This thread is titled "65 today" Here's an episode of Steptoe and Son titled "Sixty-five today" Spooky eh? It's a great episode, you should watch it. |

Even though this is in the TV section, I still thought it was a TIBB member's birthday at first  .

Another interesting fact about Matthew Corbett is that his Great Uncle was Fish and Chip shop chain owner Harry Ramsden.
If you're ever on "Who's wants to be a millionaire" and you get that question, I want a grand for that information. |
