Yes she remained, so thin
it was a sad loss.

At least her Mother
is part of this Tribute/documentary

Dogeatdog 07-04-2022 08:06 PM

Started now. Nikki’s mum seems so lovely I feel so sorry for her :(

Dogeatdog 07-04-2022 08:12 PM

It must’ve felt so overwhelming and confusing at the same time for her after spending 11 years in hospital.

Dogeatdog 07-04-2022 08:30 PM

Aww her eviction is probably one of the most memorable of all the housemates. She was so frightened before those doors opened and but her face when she got so many cheers you can tell she was really taken aback by it.

It’s a shame she went so early because that series started to lack something after she went.

Dogeatdog 07-04-2022 08:50 PM

It’s sad to see that her health started to deteriorate after BB ended. She felt so comfortable being in the BB house.

Dogeatdog 07-04-2022 08:55 PM

Omg those pictures on the gofundme page are just heartbreaking. It’s just awful to see how the lockdowns were affecting her so much :’(

Dogeatdog 07-04-2022 09:06 PM

That was a difficult watch. She was such a great housemate and it’s so sad learning about all the difficulties she went through before and after Big Brother. It’s such a shame Nikki had so many loving friends and family that supported her all the way and she had a huge impact on so many peoples lives it’s sad that Nikki is no longer with us. She’ll is still truly missed, RIP Nikki

Recorded this so starting to watch it now. This is gonna be hard.

A bit confused why they said that clip of her singing karaoke with her friend was from 2005 when they were singing Bad Romance by Lady Gaga, which wasn't released until 2009/2010.

I have wondered for a few years now, although Nikki was possibly the most entertaining housemate of all time, should they really have allowed her into the house? Back in the early years the producers really did put mentally unwell people in there and almost exploited them for entertainment. However, hearing her mum and best friend speak, it seems to have really turned her life around and gave her a happiness and purpose that she was missing at that time in her life.

Mental illness shouldn't preclude someone from going on the show provided said mental illness is treated and manageable. Also Nikki was far from exploited she was very much an active participant in the madness that was BB and she loved every moment of it.

I think secretly Nikki knew there was a possibility she wouldn't live a full life so being in and craving the spotlight was her way of trying to make the most of what time she had.

Vanessa 08-04-2022 11:37 AM

I'll watch this on catch up.
This is a subject I know very well. I've had both anorexia and bulimia in the past.
Nikki was indeed very special and in my opinion the greatest housemate the show has ever had.

I think things went downhill since lockdown.
She probably felt alone and vulnerable :bawling:

She looked great here. But after lockdown things must have got worse :bawling:

UserSince2005 08-04-2022 01:50 PM

the poor babe couldnt go to the gym in lockdown and so lost her routine, for her she must have felt that she lost her control. and so she took control by starving herself.
All because of the lockdown.

I know, that's what I said in the second half of my post.

The producers do have a duty of care though and looking back it raises some concerns over whether some people should have been allowed in. Treated or not, you could tell some people were extremely vulnerable and almost disassociated from reality. Is that fair to lock people like that up for 3 months and film their mental decline for the entertainment of the public?

It's also an issue of safety when it comes to people like Shahbaz who threatened to kill himself and all of the housemates in their sleep.
