Ukraine will take part in Junior Eurovision 2022!
This year, Public Broadcasting will participate in the 20th Children's Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held on December 11 in Yerevan (Armenia).
Soon we will announce the national selection and start accepting applications for participation in the song contest with your own original song.
Therefore, prepare songs to defend our country on the cultural front

Ukraine are once again in

Nicky91 02-08-2022 07:40 AM

Ukraine apparently also wanting a regular national final selection method rather than internal selection

UK's participation details

- They will do an internal selection (the act and the entry will be determined by CBBC and the BBC Studios Entertainment and Music department)
- BBC will broadcast this year's jESC edition on BBC One, CBBC and on their video platform BBC iPlayer
.

Nicky91 25-08-2022 12:56 PM

now we are still waiting on

- Azerbaijan (their HoD said they don't want to confirm withdrawal because it is held in armenia, because their singers should participate in no matter country it is held, so am curious what will eventually come out of that)

Germany withdrew from this year, but they are still broadcasting it, with a view of returning in 2023 https://www.eurovision.de/news/Junio...s,jesc320.html

For the very first time, the BBC will be broadcasting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on TV and online.

The competition will be held on 11 December with young people aged between nine and 14 competing to be named the winner.

It's been held every year since 2003 and this time Armenia will host after their singer Maléna's won in 2021.

It's similar to the adult competition, with the winner decided by a panel of judges as well as votes cast online from people all over the world.

Who will represent the UK this year?
This will be the first time that the UK has sent a representative since 2005, although Wales have previously sent singers to take part, most recently Erin Mai in 2019.

A singer has not yet been chosen to represent the UK at this year's competition, but the BBC says they are in "the process" of selecting someone.

I am beyond excited to bring the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to the BBC for the first time.
Patricia Hidalgo, Director BBC Children's and Education said and to showcase the diverse young musical talent from across Europe for children and their families to discover and enjoy together".

CBBC does selection process, song reveal and stuff, and the live broadcast is on BBC1, and compared to adult Eurovision, this one is usually in the afternoon, around 3:00 UK Time (4:00 CET) until 5:30 UK Time (6:30 CET)
