Shopping trolleys for the elderly…

I was shopping at M&S today in Camberley. I saw a woman pushing her elderly mother in a shopping trolley and her mother was seated at the front of the trolley in the same area people sit their children although the trolley was designed with the purpose for an elderly person to sit. I have never seen this before and a lot of people were turning their heads. It looked bizarre….and how life goes full circle. One minute they are pushing us around in a supermarket trolley…then we are doing it for them…

I followed them out of the shop…not deliberately. I couldn’t believe my eyes because it seemed so surreal. Many people were taking a second look. As they got to their car which was parked about 6 cars away from me, I saw her get off her seat and she had a cushion where she was sitting. It was clearly designed for her to sit there unlike a child…it was just bizarre. It just didn’t look right because it didn’t look dignified if you know what I mean… A child sits there close to their parent pushing them but surely an adult would feel a bit uncomfortable sitting right in front of her daughter pushing her…odd.

When i take my mum to the supermarket we get a trolley that fits around the wheelchair so i can push the chair with the trolley in front. YOu cant reverse with it and its long but it works ok, it clips onto the front.
