Bristol :The Family Sex Show cancelled amid threats

On Twitter
it got loads of Jimmy Saville photos.

https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cp...g-13-1024x.jpg

A sex education theatre show aimed
at children has been cancelled after
the venue said it had received
"unprecedented threats and abuse".
The Family Sex Show,
featuring topics such as consent,
pleasure and queerness,
was due to be performed at
Bristol's Tobacco Factory in May.
The creators of the show,
who said they had also received threats,
have now cancelled its whole tour.

More than 38,000 people signed a
petition calling for it to be axed.

The petition claimed the show was
"profoundly irresponsible" and "wholly inappropriate".

The show would have featured
full-frontal nudity and those organising
it would "present a severe safeguarding risk",
protesters added.

There is now a genuine, clear and persistent push to "include P under LGBTQ" (referring to paedophilia)... and one of the main things I really do not understand... is how the LGBT community itself is not up in arms about this. Gay men were branded as dangerous and predatory for decades and the progress that was made is now going down the drain, in the name of blinkered acceptance of "all things under the Queer umbrella". There will be a claim that it's not happening until it happens... and then an incredulous insitence that any link being made is bigoted. Safeguarding of children must come first. Always. This has to be resoundingly rejected BY the community... saying "nowt to do with us" later just isn't good enough.

Honestly if it was for young adults, say Uni freshers at 18-21 that would be one thing (god knows Universities could do with some better messaging around things like consent, going by the stats) but under-18 teens is highly questionable and actual children ... it shouldn't even be legal, let alone a good idea.

you have to wonder about the legality, because if the show is not age restricted anyone could attend it

Yes crazy to have nudes on a stage
for 5 year olds.

Crimson Dynamo 20-04-2022 03:37 PM

I really hate the word "queer" and pretty much everything it entails. I think the "Queer Community" either overlooks or allows the inclusion of the P, while normal (oft overlooked) LGBT people are against it.

Children can't consent. Like I know that might seem a redundant thing to say (kids can't go to work but schooling includes preparation for jobs) but exactly what I mean is hard to explain ... Like, I question the motives of those who go on about consent, it kind of feels like they're teaching consent so kids "can" consent ... If that makes sense?

Any parents who would take their children to that show should be arrested and all.

Yes it appears strange
to say a family show.

I have nothing against teaching proper anatomy to teenagers as this is also something we fail on massively, but that doesn't need to involve sex in any way, or live shows . And again - teens, not primary-school aged children who only need to know the absolute basics.
