Prince of Wales will do the State Opening of Parliament Tuesday 10/5/22

she is on her final innings, that's blatantly obvious now
|
Very sad, but its clear she has never been the same since Philip died
|
As I said weeks ago I think she is very poorly….probably the reason Harry is bringing his kids over for the celebrations…
|
she also caught covid which didnt help

Yes, good she survived that |
Not surprising her health has gone downhill so quickly. She has had a lot of heartache this past year or two, what with one thing and another.
|
if im being brutally honest, i think they are keeping her ticking over until the jubilee

Wicked Guess |
It's a strange thing really that we insist on someone being in the ground before there can be a succession. People can become so infirm in their final years yet they're expected to stay on in their position, not sure why she can't abdicate really and have Charles succeed to the throne for her final months. It would make the transition smoother and he could benefit from her advice in the early stages of his reign
|
For all intents and purposes, Charles has already taken over, it's just not official. They have an obsession with how long a monarch stays on the throne, and the queen wants an unbeatable record, which is kind of silly as she will be dead. Anyway, the monarchy will be a thing of the past in pretty short order after the queen goes

I was awaiting the cashier in the co op the other day, there was this old man in front of me, with a walking stick..he was saying how its his 100th birthday this week, to the cashier, before popping back along the road with his scotsman under one arm.
Do not underestimate the queen, its the legnth of the day thats the problem, and the weight of all those crowns and robes, on what promises to be a rather warm day. Plenty life left in auld lizzie yet, I'm sure. |

i think people need to be realistic, there has been a massive decline in her health in the last 2 years. Bear in mind she will be getting the best care money can buy, but you cant stop aging
