Do you take any supplements or vitamins

All in the title.

ThomasC 18-05-2022 08:16 AM

Nope, I have done on past but I don't think thru do anything.

They're a fad. I do use anti wrinkle creams and potions/lotions for my face though

thesheriff443 18-05-2022 08:22 AM

I take a multi vitamin.

LeatherTrumpet 18-05-2022 08:26 AM

no and of course its futile to unless a doctor had advised you to as otherwise you are falling for advertising

just like anti-wrinkle creams

Nicky91 18-05-2022 08:29 AM

That’s a non believer post.
I agree there are a few fake useless products but there are many that do what they claim.

Cherie 18-05-2022 08:36 AM

No, I each fruit and veg every day and I start the day with the juice of a lemon or a lime in warm water which boosts you Vit C and is great for your skin :hee:

Although I will take some Vit D in the winter time

Niamh. 18-05-2022 08:59 AM

I take Calcium tablets and Vitamin D3 on my moms commands, she got Osteoporosis in the last few years so she made me start taking Calcium and also Vitamin D3 since the pandemic. I swear my hair has gotten thicker since I started taking them both

My mothers Doctor recommended taking Calcium, women especially once they get to 40 as we're more susceptible to getting osteoporosis in older life

Swan 18-05-2022 09:25 AM

Yeah a multi vitamin and green tea tablets. Not really a supplement but i've been adding Cacao to my smoothies, that's packed full of goodness and gives some real natural energy. My endurance for cardio has almost doubled since adding a couple of tea spoons of that stuff.

michael21 18-05-2022 09:27 AM

Charlotte takes vitamins d most night

Nothing wrong with that as its from a scientific informed basis and is not directly linked to profit

LeatherTrumpet 18-05-2022 09:30 AM

Scientific evidence and not marketing, placebo and anedotes

I've been known to steal a kid's gummy vitamin or two...

...but more generally, I'd say vitamin supplements should be taken if you know for a fact you have a specific deficiency... not just 'cos on top of a healthy diet - if you don't have a deficiency I doubt there's much point.

ThomasC 18-05-2022 10:59 AM

Actually sometimes I will have whey protein.

It's recommended to take a B12 supplement if you don't eat much meat as that's our main source. I used to get B12 injections once a month when I was a vegetarian as a teenager

I've just been booked in for a 2 week course of 3 injections per week (startling on Monday), then I'll be getting an injection per week on an on-going basis. Dr told me it was dairy products not meat, but she asked if I was a Vegan. :fist:
