We should do it. We're runners up.

Good point. That would be really great.

UserSince2005 19-05-2022 12:33 PM

Ukraine is surely no way going to be in a position to host even in the rare chance that the war is over.
I don't know why they are messing around exploring that option, bunch of time wasters.

I agree, and I see us as the 'real winners'. The Judges had us as the best song, and it was the public who voted for Ukraine on the sympathy vote, which is fair enough and understandable. It was a great result for the UK and well deserved.

Yes. Why should Spain host it? They were third. :fist:

Arabic song on Eurovision? We don’t want.

It’s coming and I need tickets

The BBC is in talks with the European Broadcasting Union "to potentially host the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest" in the UK.

The show's organisers have concluded, after a "full assessment and feasibility study", that next year's event cannot be held in the winning country, Ukraine.

no **** sherlock

I am sure you will get there

You need a tibb T-Shirt

Nicky91 17-06-2022 12:29 PM

the best decision EBU could've made with all honesty

now if it is UK, please BBC be wise enough to negotiate with Ukraine's delegation to let few ukrainian presenters also co-host it, and ukrainian interval acts pls

Nicky91 17-06-2022 12:36 PM

if UK win it some year, then alone i'd want british interval acts

not now

Ukraine deserves those few winner rights at the very least, if there wasn't a war they would be able to host it

Nicky91 19-06-2022 09:28 AM

so far countries who have confirmed their participation

Quote:

Albania
Austria
Cyprus
Denmark
Finland
Germany
Greece
Israel
Italy
Montenegro
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
San Marino
Serbia
Spain
Sweden
Ukraine
United Kingdom

as for returning countries

Slovakia will make their decision in august, with their newly chosen director-general, so maybe new director-general, new chances for ESC? https://eurovoix.com/2022/06/12/slov...rovision-2023/

in terms of other countries who took part in 2022

Belgium: confirmation is still pending, and VRT wants to go back to a national final apparently https://eurovisionfun.com/en/2022/04...rovision-2023/

Croatia: confirmation still pending, but HRT signed a new deal with Opatija 3 year long contract for Dora as their national selection show until 2024 at least https://escbubble.com/2021/03/dora-r...has-been-made/

Romania: threatened with withdrawal, then opened a petition for public wether they should leave or remain in esc, and majority voted remain in esc https://eurovoix.com/2022/05/23/roma...participation/ official confirmation is still pending though

Nicky91 12-07-2022 09:23 AM

Belgium are coming with a national final, highly likely

wondering who will host that then, considering Peter van der Veire might be too busy with Big Brother then

maybe the voice van vlaanderen coach Bart Peeters (he's hosted eurosong before) or Gert Verhulst from Studio 100, or Gert's son Viktor (since he has presenting experience, with NLBE series of Love Island)

Strictly Jake 13-07-2022 11:01 AM

Can the mods just ban this guy. He's awful

Nicky91 13-07-2022 01:38 PM

Nicky91 13-07-2022 01:46 PM

omg omg omg

i think this one might work better than america song contest

with middle america, south america, caribbean, to imagine what the likes of a Jamaica, Mexico, Cuba can add to the table for example, and from south america i expect Brazil and Colombia to be their powerhouses, and Argentina maybe

Suriname would be nice to be included as well, and would be cool if Jeangu Macrooy can represent them (NL2020/2021) being the first who takes part in two different contests  or Kenny B wow

Nicky91 23-09-2022 04:13 PM

lowest number of participating countries feared for ESC2023

Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland all think of withdrawing, because of both financial problems and not wanting to perform in the UK

arista 27-09-2022 04:28 PM

Glasgow or Liverpool

are the two cities left in picking the UK city choice

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-63037204

joeysteele 27-09-2022 04:31 PM

I'd hold the contest in Glasgow if it was my decision.

UserSince2005 27-09-2022 06:10 PM

It would be a disgrace for Glasgow to host when it was won by England.

Nicky91 28-09-2022 08:09 AM

35 countries competing this year i predict

all 35 songs fully in english too please :fc:

English is our language, not just the UK's

no ballads, just uptempo songs too pls, ballads are snoozes, only uptempo songs are worthy for a entertainment show

Nicky91 05-10-2022 01:15 PM

Kazakhstan's HoD has shown interest to a possible debut if EBU wants to invite them, he said so at a press conference of Junior Eurovision 2022

Nicky91 06-10-2022 08:07 AM

possible dates

ruled out: first week of May, otherwise Netherlands last minute withdrawal, due to remembrance day (May 4)
