of fuel onboard goes up in flames in
Devon harbour and burns for three hours
in spectacular blaze as residents are warned
of hazardous fumes
The 85-foot superyacht, which is called
the Rendezvous, caught fire just before midday
in Torquay Harbour
Firefighters say the yacht is thought to
be carrying 8,000 litres of fuel and had
drifted from its mooring
A plume of smoke can be seen across
South Devon, with people told to keep
their doors and windows shut
Police have closed the harbour
and beach while firefighters battle
to get the raging inferno under control]
