Well I do love animals but nope. Not a vet or even close.

My job when I worked was a receptionist.

user104658 07-06-2022 09:43 AM

It has to be nice? :umm2:

OK... Hmmmmmmm...

You have a willingness to actually give things some thought when you want to rather than going the set "sides" route - I always appreciate it when someone doesn't neatly fit into a "tribe", especially these days.

The weight loss is also admirable. Anyone CAN do it but in reality most people lack the committment to pull it off.

There I did two!

thesheriff443 07-06-2022 09:49 AM

Thomas you work in care/support pretty much what cherie said .

Beso 07-06-2022 09:49 AM

Thomas is a swimming pool attendant.

user104658 07-06-2022 09:50 AM

Wait. What's the game? Is it to guess your occupation/say what occupation you should have?

Ok...

ThomasC: Self employed of some sort, maybe fitness/general wellbeing oriented.

Kate!: An events planner or interior designer or something like that.

Cherie: Arista's secretary

Alf 07-06-2022 09:50 AM

Thomas is on the game

I *think* the game is to suggest an occupation based on how people are on here, rather than their actual occupation since we already know a lot of people's real occupation.

I might have it wrong.

user104658 07-06-2022 09:53 AM

e.g. we all know Parmy fixed tellies, but that his true calling is to be a pub landlord chewing the fat with the regulars all day.

Funny you should say that, I did 2 x13 hours shifts at the scottish scooter rally over the weekend doing just that.

I thought Thomas was guessing our occupation's ,based on how we are on here TIBB.

The fact it says "be nice" rules me out of this game. So I think it's for the best that I keep my opinion to myself for the time being. I wouldn't want to make anyone cry.

Alf: Dusty bar-fly regular at Parmy's pub, pestering all the young lads about the New World Order when they just came in for a quiet game of pool.

You're hinting for me to tell you all about the New World order, arne't you?

In short, we're doomed.

I've been saying that for years Alf :joker:. The world's ****ed whether there are shadowy forces helping it get there or not. For me it comes down to this;

For the world not to be ****ed, it would require people (as a collective; more or less everyone in the world) to act selflessly.

... and in my opinion you might as well wait for Superman to swoop down and save us all. It's simply not going to happen. In fact, as we hurtle towards the abyss all I see is more and more naval-gazing and self-interest.

Cherie 07-06-2022 03:13 PM

But we know your occupation Thomas ...:fist:

You could be a croupier ir barman in another life

I am a very good swimmer and I had an obsession with Baywatch when I was younger. I even made one of those red things (they called them a 'can' in Baywatch) in the bath out of a Robinson's squash bottle and painted it red.

I would enjoy looking at the fit people and love blowing my whistle, but I would get too bored! I would want someone to drown so I could rescue them  so if I was going to be a lifeguard it would have to be on a dangerous beach with lots of rips like Bondi Beach.

Well I don't know why anyone would intentionally go out their way not to be nice, but then some like to as it makes them feel better about themselves. I must pity those people as they're obviously very troubles and sad
