Archaeology students are getting trigger warnings for studying

[The paper says archaeology students
are getting "trigger warnings in case
studying mummified bodies gives them
the heebie-jeebies".]

Isn't that like warning mathematics students they might see numbers?

Just wait until they start saying that the mummified body was male :worry:.

"Uhh DID YOU ASK THEM??"

:joker:

One might hope that a serious, hands-on, facts based subject like Archeology would attract the kind of people who were above that kind of nonsense tbh.

Tbh trigger warnings are nonsense.

If someone lacks common sense to know what could entail an Archaeology lesson then that's on them.

I don't normally like to be too mean about a topic, but things like trigger warnings and safe spaces doesn't teach these people how to handle the negatives of life.

I think they're an acceptable compromise in some cases - it's better to not remove items of media from sale or streaming, or to edit bits out of it, and to instead put a warning in front of it.

But as you say, warning Archaeology students they might see something creepy is a bit daft.

I get what you're saying, it's just to me I don't need to be told that a 50's Disney Film is gonna have outdated viewpoints in certain areas, it's kind of common sense to know that imo.

But I'm definitely with you that the Archaeology one is the worst.
