Joe Lycett asked to explain comedy show to N.I. Police

[Comedian Joe Lycett has said an audience member
complained to police about a joke
in one of his shows.
In an Instagram post he wrote:
"To be fair to them the fuzz were very nice
about it all but felt they had a duty to investigate."
Lycett, 33, who is from Birmingham,
said he was asked to explain the context
of the joke in a statement and the case
was now closed.
He said the joke would remain in his routine.
Lycett added he considered it
"one of the best I've ever written" and
hoped the police were "charmed and
hopefully amused" by his response.

"The tour continues until September,
unless I am jailed," he wrote.

He shared an image of the police
response, telling him the
matter was considered closed.]

Who calls the police, the fuzz and rozzers these days..

Attention seeker alert.

A Daily Express investigation revealed there were more than 400,000 break-ins last year –
despite lockdowns meaning, more people were at home. In the 12 months to March last
year, the number of burglaries that went unsolved stood at 82 percent. Figures also show
almost one million domestic burglaries have gone unsolved in the past five years.

I don't know what's stupider - someone feeling the need to call the police over a joke, or the police actually following up on it.

they don't check on actual burglaries so why should they check on a joke?

I wonder if he made the complaint himself?

If you want to know what the joke was then tickets are available for his show.
