It's apparently a movie adaption of the stage musical, rather than an actual "remake" of the old movie.

They've ruined an absolutely amazing film but then remakes normally do. I haven't even seen it and will most likely not having seen the trailer.

I always thought of The Trucnhbull as more hench than fat... hammer-throwing the kids, shotput champion and whatnot.

I have nothing against a new Matlida adaptation IN THEORY is it's meant to be totally different to the original film - and I've seen Matilda the musical down in London and it was fantastic - however... .... .... .... it's a Netflix adaptation so it will be trash.

Thr musical has been around since like 2010. It was a book "in the first place" but the stage adaption is separate to the movie.
