So they proved his point. The powers that be silenced him for his opinion like any facist would. Had he have done the same thing with the Union flag he wouldn't have been silenced.

Ok, he was banned for his opinion. Still an act that goes against free speech.

Why? He used his free speech to the best of his ability.

But it proves the point he's making that authoritarian action will be taken against anyone with an opinion on that flag that's not a conformist opinion. .

So what danger do you think he in for not conforming? Authoritarians throughout history are far more likely to align with him than any gender or sexuality groups.

I agree, but do you think going out of his way to antagonise folks with minimal power in society, and many of them just searching for acceptance of their existence, is really how a person with a national platform needs to get his rocks off?

It's all a way to rile folks up, and make some quick cash through media appearances anyway, so he's rubbing his hands together rather than cowering behind the sofa.

The ban is more likely for posting a swastika than for messing about with the One Flag to be honest.

I wouldn't want people who sent their hateful opinions to the people of the MAGA movement banned either. Nor the people who give the opinion that the unvaccinated should be cast aside from society.

To be fair Alf I largely agree with you - I don't think twitter bans for things like this really solve all that much. He'll have been getting plenty of kickback for it already and the ban will actually just get him more attention, not less. In terms of bans, I'd pretty much stick to the bots and anyone threatening or inciting actual violence/death threats etc. (no matter how toothless).
