It can't backfire, not really - the Tories wouldn't get a bigger majority, and at least a chunk of the Red Wall would probably revert back to Labour, now things have changed since 2019.
The Tories are no longer lead by a "likeable Buffon who'd be fun down the pub"; Labour are no longer lead by someone whose actions and statements were covered in a way to make his party unvoteable for; and Brexit is "done" - a GE around now would have a pretty different result!

arista 07-07-2022 11:39 AM

Starmer will now call for NO Confidence Vote

He will not allow Johnson as Care Taker

They do not want Johnson as Care Taker until October

bots 07-07-2022 06:04 PM

the tories are never going to vote themselves out of government, so it's a completely pointless threat

It might give whoever makes the decisions the incentive to kick him out sooner rather than later though!

Mystic Mock 07-07-2022 06:50 PM
