I have an interview tomorrow

Hello flower pots.

I have a job interview tomorrow morning over teams at 9;00am for a job in New Zealand. :cheer2:

I have to do some research now about the Maori cultural needs and the treaty of waitangi so I at least sound like I have a clue. Lol :conf::joker:

I applied for the job and then I've only been given two days before this interview, but I will wing it because I know what I'm talking about, but just haven't a clue about new Zealand Aboriginals so I need to do a little research there.

I know you're all so eager to get rid of me so I thought I would update you all.

Thank you. It's so early to do an interview. What sort of time is 9am. I'm going to do it in my pants and just put a shirt on as the camera won't be facing down

Time difference I suppose, although I'm sure it would make it 8pm or something over there which would be an odd time to interview

Cherie 13-07-2022 11:22 AM

Good luck, you would think they would want a local to do a job like that, just thinking out loud

Yeah it will be, but I suppose he's trying to accommodate me.

It's the guidelines for cultural assessment - Maori, under the intellectual disability - compulsory care and rehabilitation act 2003 that I need to read

https://www.health.govt.nz › i...PDF
Guidelines for Cultural Assessment – Mäori - Ministry of Health

I haven't the motivation at the minute. I'll do a workout and then feel more energised to take it on and make some notes on the key information. Bound to be asked in interview.

Like everywhere, it's just really hard to get the staff.

Will always be a need for agency staff even if just for short periods of time.

ThomasC 13-07-2022 11:31 AM

I am an asset to anywhere I work. Not just my experience, but my attitude and work presence.

Not being big headed, but I have succeeded in every job and done well.

I'm also a dog with a bone so if I feel something then I advocate to the high hills.

Would this job not be better to be given to someone who is from NZ and understands the ethnic indigenous heritage?

UserSince2005 13-07-2022 11:51 AM

"new Zealand Aboriginals"? as in the people that the Maoris brutally massacred to extinction a few hundred years before the Brits landed and made everything better?

No I am the right man for the job. Lol.

Fundamentals don't change no matter what country you're in

Well I think people from New Zealand are just called mairo anyway. I'm going to have to Google how you pronounce this.

He was never a fan I don't think.

Silly psychopath

ThomasC 13-07-2022 12:29 PM

I once looked after a man who was Japanese I think.

He was called Alex, but that wasn't his real name, but a nickname as his actual name was too complicated I think.

He didn't speak and would just try and hit you all the time. This was in Australia when I did ndis and I'd go see him for couple of hours and take him the park, but you had to stand back because he'd swipe you.

I had to feed him and this one day he knocked his dinner tray out my hand and it went all over me and up the wall. I tried to be so nice to him too lol. He obviously couldn't help it, he had a traumatic brain injury.

But point I'm making is that I've looked after lots of different people

parmnion 13-07-2022 12:38 PM

I would love to live in New Zealand, best of luck Thomas. I'm sure you will smash it.

Thank you.

New Zealand doesn't massively appeal to me, not like Australia did, but I either do it now or I don't.

My current employer is also keeping my job open for me and I have no commitments here.

It's just scary though and a lot to process and think about.

You won’t get it Thomas
