shot dead on set in New York

NBC confirmed the victim had been
working on the series,
which is a spin-off of the long-running
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.]

[Johnny Pizarro was found at about
5.15am local time on Tuesday
on a residential street in the Greenpoint
section of Brooklyn before a day
of filming was scheduled to begin.
He was suffering from multiple gunshot
wounds to the head and neck,
according to police.
The 31-year-old, from Queens, New York,
was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police were investigating and had not
released information on suspects or a motive.]
