The first drag queen “story hour” for children in a UK-wide tour of council
libraries has descended into chaos after it was stormed by protesters.

Almost 70 events in 20 areas of Britain are being visited over the next two
months by Drag Queen Story Hour UK, a group that hosts sessions for three
to 11-year-olds.

The project is run by Sab Samuel, a 27-year-old autistic male children’s
author, who performs as Aida H Dee in a sequined dress with heavy make-
up.

But the first event for families at Reading Borough Council libraries erupted
in a dramatic row, as Mr Samuel was given a police escort next to a riot van
and demonstrators chanted “paedophile”.

It was derailed when two mothers, who had infiltrated the ticket-only class,
stood up and confronted Mr Samuel. They shouted: “You’re allowing child
grooming to take place, this is disgusting, do you know what autogynephilia
is?”

Autogynephilia is when males are sexually aroused by the thought of
themselves being female.

One unidentified mother, holding a pram and filming the drag queen, shouted
in front of the assembled crowd: “You’re probably teaching kids that there’s
100 genders, there’s only two sexes, no man can be a woman. We’re here to
protect children.”

top DT comment: Amazing isn't it, if you're burgled you aren't visited by
police now but if you're a drag queen you're protected by dozens of police!!
Insane!!

we have had males playing females in the theatre for donkey's years. In what ways is this different?

smudgie 28-07-2022 11:41 AM

Those poor kids, having such small minded bigoted mothers.

There is no difference, pantomime dames have been telling crude jokes in front of children for god knows how long, the only difference is the culture to which drag belongs too, this is all about being against anything lgbt based

At this point the LGBT movement is acting like a new kind of religious cult so there's nothing new in that. It's no different to atheists being against anything religious based.

Drag at its core is misogynistic

"Drag at its core is misogynistic; it is men portraying women as sexually objectified
caricatures. Drag performers frequently reduce women to hyper sexualised, big breasted,
big haired bimbos. "

“Anna Bortion” was listed as one of the funniest drag queen names by Pride alongside
Malestia Child”:umm2:. Ginger Minj finished as a runner up on Ru Paul’s Drag
Race.

The British Library promoted an event with children’s drag entertainer Alyssa Van Delle
, calling Van Delle a “hot” performer who will “have you on the edge of your seat and
gagging for more”. “Charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent” is a phrase repeated by
RuPaul, simply because the words spell out C.U.N.T. Or how about the drag term “fish”,
which is used to describe a very feminine drag queen or man that “passes”. It is a
reference to the supposed smell of women’s genitals.

The mothers dont want it to happen...are you saying their rights as parents should be ignored?

Jordan. 28-07-2022 12:41 PM

If they're so concerned they should home school but that would require them to get off right wing social media for a minute and give their kids some attention so that isn't gonna happen.

But what if they don't want to take orders from you to do what you want them to do? What then?

Panto has jokes too, so should small children be taken to see Ricky Gervais?

What if the school don't want to take orders? What if drag queens refuse to be bullied and abused out of a job?

What about the muslim parents protesting at the school gates last year. Should they get off the right wing sites as well.

Love to see this happen in tower hamlets...except it wont.

Whether you like it or not, that is a very good point. This wont be happening in UK Muslim communities.

It just ‘seems’ different to my mind .

I don’t really appreciate any kind of drag artists ( I hate pantomimes as well ) but it certainly doesn’t sit comfortably with me if they’re performing in primary schools

Maybe it’s an age thing ..

If they can stop cinemas airing films, imagine how easy they could stop a library from booking this bloke.

One things for sure, the police wouldn't be filming the protestors like they did today.

It's the blue beard I find creepy.

Well some Muslims also hold conservative views so the things you protest for are not exactly far removed. You could be great allies if you could get over the fact they are brown.

That's a very racist comment.

The parents pay for the Schools out of their taxes. If the Schools want to stop taking orders from the parents then they should pay for their own schools and stop taking money off the tax paying parents which they're given to educate their children.

These trans people are going around spreading the gospel of LGBT just like any religious preacher. They have months dedicated to LGBT with flags, parades and everything else that comes with it. Just like any religious holiday. And if anyone is critical of it you're seen as some sort of religious blasphemer or in this case transphobic.

Like I said earlier in this thread. This is a new kind of religious cult as all the undeniable evidence above proves.

Am I wrong in that observation?

Yeah I agree dont see the comparison with panto which is family friendly and drag acts which are not?

I don't get the current obsession to have readers who are drag queens either if I am honest

Nor why a night-time men adult sexual "act" would want to parade about like that to little children

well creepy

Beso 28-07-2022 03:40 PM

If he cared about the kids, and not just himself, then he would come to work dressed appropriately.

He would then find himself reading to larger audiences, which would help him promote his book better.
