An iconic cast but at the same time a lot of them were already well-known in one way or another before going on the show, like Marco, Lateysha and Laura

its 2022, this is the only way we can get an entertaining show and good ratings.

I agree, a house full of Jaynes would be iconic

Liked the series at the time but nah.

They need to look at the first 10 years of the show when doing the casting.

Old school casting wouldn’t work. It’s 2022 get with the times

God, in hindsight that was such an unlikeable cast.

90% of the housemates were iconic. The other 10% were great supporting housemates.

Marco rivaled that twat whatshisname (the one Ness liked who abused dogs) for the worst HM of all time

BBDodge 03-08-2022 07:53 PM

One of those series when I could find no-one to like. Switched off well before the end.

I really liked BB17

Hughie the legend.

I actually have a feeling that we’re going to get a BB10-like cast next year, by casting eccentric and quirky individuals, that can bring entertainment and drama without being too offensive.

I mean obviously people would love it if they casted in the style of 5 and 6, but no way would ITV risk that, these series that I mentioned would be taken off the air midway if they aired today. I wouldn’t want to see a cast like 7’s back because let’s face it, most of the cast were duds and only a few strong characters carried the series. I would say the same thing about 8 (most of the men were terrible in both of these series, and the women really did carry them).

9’s cast, while good, were at times repulsive as well, and don’t even get me started on 11, probably the worst job C4 has done with casting (with the exception of Series 4)

I think it’s actually very difficult these days to cast a series similar to the first four. There’s this authenticity about that time period that is hard to capture.

While C5 did hit the gold with casting at times (13, 17, parts of 14, 16 and 18), I wouldn’t want to see their formula and casting style back as well, because it didn’t work more times than it did.

So yes, to conclude, I won’t be surprised if the casting team based their housemates on BB10.

Most of that line up looks like something from Love Island :notimpressed: .

Hasn't Andrew got himself into some trouble recently over Misogynistic behaviour? I don't think that ITV is gonna want that on their doorstep.:joker:

I agree that the Show will need to modernize to an extent.

But old school casting could work well for a modern audience as people do seem to like watching people from all different backgrounds interacting with each other on their TV Shows nowadays.

And that style does suit BB best, and is when the Show was at it's most popular in the ratings.

Ironically the model-esque era where they also had to be from London, Essex or Kent was when the Show did horrible in the ratings, and is in the spot that it's in now.

Just because the other way has been popular for Love Island doesn't mean that BB fans want that style for their Show as well.
