Why will people not get proper Gas Engineers
in?

Boilers simply do not explode even if they are not maintained, they have many safety measures to stop it. So, someone likely unqualified tried to do something they shouldn't

I haven't used gas in many years. I don't like it. Heard too many gas explosion stories.

One about two miles from where I live.

But you don't have to be a gas customer is suffer from an explosion. You could be living next door to one.

RIP. :(

OK simple solution for them
Turn the Unsafe Boiler Off
on the Electric mains plug

Then the little girl would be alive

Do you know it was a boiler ? because if people were reporting smell of gas they obviously wern't hanging round this particular boiler.

Yes, it now appears to be the Gas Board's Fault
