Petrol prices upside down
So for the last 20 odd years and probably forever Petrol at supermarkets in big cities has been cheaper than in market towns and much cheaper than in wee places
Now its reversed This morning I leave a city with 100,000 population and its 1.71 at Tesco I go through a market town population 8000 at its 1.65 I then go through a wee town of 800 people and its 1.62  in all the time before it would be the total opposite what is going on? |
It's always been that way here, the further out you go the cheaper it is
|
the supermarkets are the slowest to update their prices when they are coming down and the price has been on a downward trend for weeks

think of the extra profit a supermarket chain can make if it delays reducing the price by 2 or 3 days across the entire country. It's a giant scam

Yeah I noticed this, I normally get my fuel at Morissons thinking they're the cheapest. Paid £1.72 or something like that the other day then later drove past a petrol station just outside a tiny village and it was £1.68

Tesco in town 1.62
the wee local garage in a tiny town in Fife with one newsagent only, 1.52 go figure :skull: |
Tell you what is a joke!! Asda petrol!! Last week at the self serve pay at pump it didn't go through at first so I tried again then it worked. But you know what happens? They charge you 99 quid to use the pump!! This is pending in your bank account then they take the amount you have used away and the 99 goes back. But the first failed attempt. It took over a four days to get that 99 quid back!! Absolute joke. Why do they have to take 99 pound out?!

Normally they debit the amount you have taken in fuel immediately, but sometimes it doesn't work like that. |
