Yes LBC Live said
he will have a rough ride as King.

bitontheslide 09-09-2022 11:05 AM

He will stick to doing his constitutional duties like he has been doing for years already helping out the late queen.

I've always liked Charles but I fear his reign might mean the Royal Family sinking into possible insignificance when coupled with the Terrible Threesome, Harry, Meghan and Prince Andrew...

I actually think he will be less controversial than some may expect.

I look back and I was 5 when I heard of Princess Diana's tragic death.
I think he got rightful criticism for the mess of that marriage.

Not to dwell on that however.

King Charles 111 has had decades of training as to what is expected as Monarch when in the position of Monarch.
His teacher, Her Majesty was the perfect one to learn all from.

He will too I think be strengthened with his wife the Queen Consort Camilla at his side.
She will likely be his rock too.
He has looked far happier in life now with his wife.

I think this could be a good reign actually which will be paving the way too for Prince William and eventually Prince George.

He's had a long journey to his birthright as Monarch.
I personally don't think he will do anything to weaken all his Mother achieved as Monarch.

I think over time her title of Queen might irk some people. Just because of what happened with Diana and Charles only really wanting Camilla.

bitontheslide 09-09-2022 12:13 PM

people don't like change, it's part of our DNA. Churchill thought that Elizabeth was going to be a disaster and look how that turned out

I agree totally some will never accept Camilla.

However, very recently, as a direct wish of her own decree, Queen Elizabeth did much to detoxify that.
When she decreed it was HER wish that Camilla was afforded the title Queen Consort.

That possible black cloud of her title was removed by the Queen herself.
Enabling King Charles to then not have to deal with that issue.

It could have been a really contentious issue.
However Her Majesty decreed the title so it's now Camilla's title direct from Queen Elizabeth's orders.
Therefore HAS to be carried out.

I do agree with you Gusto, it will be a big negative still to some of those who detest what came about re Princess Diana however.

It's a big stumbling block all these years on.

Does not matter.

It is the System.

After watching Charles greeting the crowds outside Buckingham palace, then him and our darling Queens Consort the 1st Camilla walking through the gates of Buckingham palace. Their 2 steps forward, one step back kind of motion thereafter, does make me wonder the change in the alcohol purchasing increase on our tax paying pounds for buckingham palace.

What does he need to warn her about?

Gusto Brunt 09-09-2022 03:21 PM

I am always amazed how together the Royals are after the death of someone close to them.

Charles on his walkabout this afternoon, I couldn't do that. I'd be a shuffling crying wreck. It's the old British stiff upper lip - famed by Prince Philip.

Of Course
King Charles
is clever about Green Industry
before she was an adult, infact.
