National Treasure: Edge of History (Disney+)

good mix of new talent and a few top actors in its cast (among the cast Catherine Zeta-Jones, Harvey Keitel (Harvey reprising his role from the films))

and a continuation of, the National Treasure film series

The title will put most people off - sounds like a documentary series

It does sound like one doesn't it? I thought that it was just me who thought that.

watched the first episode last night

omg so much fun, like the films

Spoiler:

Catherine Zeta-Jones is the villain/rival treasure hunter, and guess what she has blonde hair here

Nicky91 22-12-2022 01:32 PM

so so enjoyable

great new acting talent this Lisette Olivera

Spoiler:

some moments in the FBI offices, one of the agents giving us a reminder of the films, how Peter Sadursky was the one who arrested Ben Gates after he stole the declaration of independence, to the newbie agent Ross (although i don't trust that one agent at all, how he also quickly said no sadursky's death is not suspicious at all, died in his sleep after suffering from dementia bla bla bla, i am not buying into that, that agent could be Billie's inside man

also
Spoiler:

the criticism this series has been getting over being too into diversity, i disagree, casting of new characters is great, especially as your storyline is centred around aztec but also mayan history, the daughter of a mexican treasure hunter makes perfect sense, also how he gave the necklace to her when she was a baby and when he got murdered (idk if he really is dead though, i mean we've seen weirder plot twists before, like in mission impossible for example with jon voight's character staged death scene)

Nicky91 19-01-2023 08:55 AM

gonna watch two more episodes tonight

yeah am loving it

also thx to this, first time me finding out about
Spoiler:

Elvis Presley's native american ancestor, i didn't know that at all, morning white dove, which is true, good find i have to say wow, also loved the scenes at graceland too

I'm guessing that as Disney's title contains the word "history", it has nothing at all to do with anything that ever really happened.

there are quite a few returning characters in it
Spoiler:

FBI agent Hendricks, Riley Poole, Peter Sadusky, and Nicolas Cage's character Ben Gates is confirmed to be making his comeback in season two, and he was briefly mentioned by Riley already too

it's very enjoyable to watch

the newer characters also quite refreshing for the franchise
