Lucid Dreaming

Has anyone ever tried to lucid dream, or have they ever experienced them recently?( Aka being self aware & vivid you're dreaming & able to control & do whatever you want ) ... incase some people don't know.

I've heard as we get older ..it gets more difficult to not only lucid dream but to frequently do it , I keep trying to though.

I do it all the time.

Last night I was clubbing, then trying to get home after clubbing. I said hello to a lot of old friends and family last night as I was looking for the train.

I never got home, I reminded myself in the dream to wake up.

You can train yourself to do it, and to have the possibility that you might be dreaming in your mind - randomly throughout the day, think to yourself "if I'm dreaming, this cup will turn pink" or whatever. Eventually, you'll do this when you are dreaming, and the cup will turn pink :joker: so from there you can steer your dreams in more interesting directions.

Sometimes if you realise you're dreaming, you reflexively wake up, so adding some mental framework can protect you from that.

Some music can trigger (or ease) lucid dreaming, such as brain entrainment.

Yeah I heard about those types of techniques, but I still haven't mastered it yet.
Also now when I dream, it's usually a blur & I'm just in the moment. Can't remember last time I was lucid.

Sometimes when I lucid dream, I'm almost awake, like ... Whatever I want to happen will happen, but it's like semi-transparent, and behind it is the dark from when my eyes are closed, if that makes sense. I can also hear what's going on IRL, but that's usually just the clock ticking :joker:

mines are crystal clear, that's why I can still see last nights one so vividly...

It's probably about 50/50 with me. The "transparent" ones are usually very early morning, so I'm probably in a hypnopompic state or something.

Do you always go to sleep roughly at the same time every night Oliver?
