Schools to keep them until 4PM new plan

Keep the kids still in schools
and give each Kid a Recharge LED Torch

So in winter they can see in the dark

Some Teachers are already saying they will not do it.

New Conservative Plan.
Will be debated this week

...and then dropped again as soon as it's pointed out that kids should have time to be kids, and not exist in full time working hours.

Another Hour
of Education

Will be Fine

God no. You need to learn in relatively bite sized stages. Extending even by "only" an hour will make them zone out.

Did you ask to stay at school for an extra hour each day when you used to attend? Then don't accept it being forced on others, either.

They didn't need to expand them in your time, nor mine, so they don't need to extend them now. Kids should not be expected to do a full work day, then have homework, then time for leisure and sports.

Don't agree with this at all.

Exactly.

In Ireland secondary school hours are 9 to 4 but they have double the summer holiday weeks 12 compared to 6

Crimson Dynamo 03-10-2022 04:00 PM

get them in on sat morning too like private schools do

bots 03-10-2022 04:03 PM

if teachers won't do it, the idea is a non starter

There is no money to pay the staff for the extra hours .

Some high schools are struggling so much financially that there’s kidz working on paper as the schools couldn’t afford enough exercise books

Exactly

Back in the day we had eight 40 minutes lessons ( double lessons for PE and Food Tech but now we have five 60 minutes lessons each day and a two weekly timetable ..

It’s supposedly called progress ..

Ideas completely out of touch with major cities and towns. Imagine the Schools and Workplace going head to head with the traffic and 5pm rush hour, which will happen. A misery all round.

Typical ridiculousness from this current Government, just way out of touch with the working class. Sick of the Tories even more at this point!
