Criminal barristers have finally voted to end their strike action, taking a new deal

[Criminal barristers have finally voted
to end their strike action
after voting 57% in favour of accepting
the government’s originally
proposed 15% pay rise.
The Criminal Bar Association today announced
the result after balloting took place last week,
having backed down on their previous demands
for a 25% bump.

A big win for Brandon Lewis MP just a month into the job]

The government's original 15% increase with a NEW addition to it.
The main part of the post above doesn't reveal that.

The NEW addition is this won't just apply to NEW legal aid cases but will now be backdated too.
Which the original offer DID NOT apply.

It leaves the question why could this Minister concede that condition when Raab refused to.

So a NEW deal not the original accepted at this time.

Although the Barristers still see this as a move forward and starting point with hopefully more concessions to come into being eventually too.

Very good this strike is off however and with that NEW addition to the deal.
