This REVIVAL sounds horrendous

I just dont feel excited by this revival at all

Everything they've said about it makes me worried.

Aj Odud as host....awful. March Launch....awful. Affiliated with Love Island....awful

its just not gonna be the BB we all know and love

Especially because they house will no longer be at Elstree

I just think im not gonna get on board with it

Oliver_W 11-10-2022 10:44 AM

Oh god, bloody AJ isn't confirmed, is she?

OLLIE97 11-10-2022 11:41 AM

Where have they said it's going to be affiliated with LI? Everything they've said so far seems pretty good to me; AJ is a rumour, not confirmation.

Oliver_W 11-10-2022 11:44 AM

Most of it does sound good - they're aiming for a diverse age range, people from various different walks of life, not going to focus on ghastly "influencers" ...

Niamh. 11-10-2022 11:46 AM

What do they mean by affiliated with Love Island?

I like AJ

the only piece of reported news we can take as very likely is the March start date, due to the application process stating availability in Spring 2023 and Broadcast, being a reputable source of TV news. The rest is pure rumour.

Realistically, when is there another slot for big brother to be successful? There is Winter and Summer love island (which is established), Autumn is I'm a celeb, so March feels about right I'd say. Yes, its going to be different than having it in Summer but we have to face the reality that TV has changed and the show has to change with it to be successful.

We should all be giving it a chance before making any judgements.. even if AJ is chosen as host, her career has come a long way and who knows, you might just enjoy it.

I Appreciate fans all have their own opinions on what should/shouldn't happen with the show, but basing judgement purely on speculation and not even giving it a chance will make ITV think we're not all so excited to have our favourite show back

Vanessa 11-10-2022 02:10 PM

I'm still very excited. Let's wait and see.

No doubt it will be advised by Stonewall and run like a John Lewis advert on woke steroids

If one woman does not have pink and or blue hair i will go to the foot of my stairs

Host not confirmed.
Start date not confirmed.

Don't be put off by tabloid rumours.

joe199998293 11-10-2022 07:49 PM

Seems a little bit negative, when we literally don’t know a thing about the show other than an expected air date. At least they’re pushing it more than C5 did*♂️

thom_bombadil 11-10-2022 08:22 PM

Tbh, tabloid rumours aren’t always right… but generally, they are when it comes to Big Brother.

Yes well said

As for 'the BB we all know and love' in the OP, well the problem was not enough people still loved it. Let's be honest the show was on a decline for the last few years of its existence and you can blame C5 for that but it wasn't the only factor. It's been 15 years since BB was at its peak, television and society has changed a lot in that time. ITV bucked the trend by making Love Island successful at a time when traditional television (as in a show thats on at a set time that you watch daily) was struggling. I'd like to think they can make BB a success as well and that it will be supported

Tbf Big Brother has always been pretty "woke" as you call it.

For me BB is one of a few Shows that actually suits that casting style imo as it used to bring up some interesting dynamics that scripted Shows can't recreate very easily imo.

Plus Ch5 having nearly every Housemate be upper class white people from London & Kent got boring pretty fast imo.

They'll stretch that to mean influencers from Tiktok as well as Instagram .

There will definitely be at least one housemate with made up pronouns.

To be fair there probably will be, there were like two they/thems in a recent BBCan :joker:

joe199998293 13-10-2022 07:26 PM

Just fail to see why peoples pronouns seem to bother you guys

Oliver_W 13-10-2022 09:45 PM

They don't bother me, they're just a bit cringey :joker:
