Jeff Bezos plans to give most of his £110bn fortune away

[Jeff Bezos has revealed plans to give away
most of his $124bn (£110bn) fortune
during his lifetime.
The Amazon founder, 58, is the world's
second-richest man after Elon Musk,
the Tesla boss and new owner of Twitter,
according to Forbes.

This is the first time he has said he plans
to give away most of his money.

Mr Bezos has been criticised in the past
for not signing the Giving Pledge,
a campaign founded by Warren Buffett and Bill Gates
to encourage the mega rich to contribute
most of their wealth to charity.

Asked directly by CNN whether
he planned to give most of his money away,
Mr Bezos said: "Yeah, I do."]

You can only spend so much money in your lifetime.
You will find more happiness in giving it to good causes.

I agree. It's like those people who win something crazy like £168m on Euromillions.

There was this guy who spent about £8m buying a lake. First of all the lake belongs to nature so he was made a mug of there.:joker:

And secondly, imagine what joy he could have brought to poor.

Millions of people could have benefitted from just that £8m.

I'd get a massive joy out of that.:hee:

This.

I'd like to think if I had that kind of money and opportunity to do good, that I'd at least try.

Obviously though Birmingham City and the PlayStation are coming first.:hmph::joker:

But seriously I'm glad that Bezos might do some good.
