Should all charity donations go direct to the people they are supposed to help?
 

It's fair to say that some money will need to be taken from any donation to pay admin fees and the likes.

But should charity companies like say archwell be allowed to register in states like Delaware where only 5 percent of the money needs to go towards donations..its 60 percent in other states.

I wonder what made harry and meghan register in Delaware! Its all very strange :shrug:

I dread to think about this kind of thing to be honest … Children in Need used to say that all the money went to the needy .

I’ve heard sooo many horror stories surrounding other charities and those money making charity shops that seem to be taking over our towns .

It seems that for every two shops or stores that close in our little northwest town at one new charity shop opens up

Well you need to spend money to make money so it makes sense that they'd need to invest money in staffing, resources, campaigns etc. I think it'd be concerning if the amount being spent and not going directly on charity was more than 25% though

The stories around suggest that the assistants are volunteers or minimum wage but the area reps who just breeze in and out are on something like £50,000 a year

It's a well paid sector to be in if you're at the top for sure

The worst ones are those paid by commission only who accost you in the street and con elderly people into signing up for subscriptions

In an ideal world yes the majority would go directly those in need, I suppose one of the best charities in that respect to donate to is buying food for food banks as the food gets to the right people in the main
