People sniffing a lot does get on my nerves still.

Either blow your nose/inhale Olbas and have-done with it or go home and drink chicken pepper-soup.

But if it’s at the expense of the well-being of colleagues (if you might spread a virus/infection to them) then there might well be further lost productivity from sick-days which are forced to come about as a result of too many people being down with the same thing. It’s not just about the one employee.

I agree if you do a job where you can work from home but if you cant then you have to show up, a little sniffle is nothing.

I don't know what's happened to me, but I am VERY GRATEFUL. I've not had cold or flu for nearly six years.

I didn't even get Covid.

I hope my good health continues.:hee:

BUT, in the times I did get cold it was always when I was out in a shop or walking down the street and someone coughing very close to me. Often a relative breathed over me too. :fist:

So never go to work with a cold. Very selfish.

You probably did, only asymptomatically and as a result not knowing about it. I find it hard to believe that 85% of people still alive at this point didn’t contract it at least once. It just might’ve been so mild that it slipped under the radar and didn’t get tested.

If you have a genuine case of the ’flu. or any other serious malady that might not necessarily happen to land you in hospital just like that, getting out of bed is out of the question. Naturally we do have to draw the line at common colds/a case of the sniffles but at the same time there’s a lot to recommend for hygiene decorum to employees and the general public at-large when it’s appropriate. Whether it’s a case of cocaine-ruptured nostrils, random sniffing and coughing tics or allergies you need to at least try and sort yourself out on that front when you’re out and about. Japanese-modelled decorum might be a bit much but it’s not hard to cover one’s mouth when coughing or carry pocket-tissues to cut out too much sniffing. People who sniff all the time without even thinking to run a Kleenex past their nostrils are incredibly irritating and annoying after a while.
