[Nancy Pelosi, who has led Democrats
in the US House of Representatives
for almost two decades,
has announced she is standing down
from the role.

The 82-year-old is the most powerful
Democrat in Congress and the first woman
to serve as speaker of the House.
She will continue to represent her California
district in the lower chamber of Congress.

I'd never think she was 82 to look at her tbh

the 3 top democrats (excluding Biden) are all in their 80's. They have been stifling the progress of many in the party with their stranglehold, so it's not before time

America is ageist ,they prefer old people in the white house.

She's been a formidable character.

In some ways she looks like she's constantly resisting the urge to crumble away into a pillar of dust and get swept away by a gust of wind ... but really, she could pass for a 60-something.
