[Strikes will take place on 23rd to 26th
and 28th to 31st December impacting

Is everyone going on strike? Even one of the factories in my company are doing it

arista 07-12-2022 02:19 PM

Yes, many are saying they are
in need of 15% rise

bots 07-12-2022 02:26 PM

everyone needs a pay rise it doesnt mean that every employer can afford it. People have to weigh up whether its better to have a lower salary than none at all, which is a distinct possibility in many cases

Vanessa 07-12-2022 02:31 PM

We have unions for that, but we don't usually strike at our workplace. We usually come to an agreement eventually.

Mark Serwotka in Charge of PCS Union
is saying more have joined his Union
in time for this 10 day strike

[People should "think carefully" about going on
holiday over the Christmas period
after Border Force workers became
the latest to announce they would go on strike
,
the home secretary has said.

Suella Braverman has urged people
to rethink flying around the festive period
as she warned of "undeniable,
serious disruption for the many thousands
who have holiday plans".

"I really want to urge people who have got
plans to travel abroad to think carefully
about their plans because they
may well be impacted," she said.

"Ultimately, I'm not willing to compromise
on security at the border - that's the
number one priority.]

What a very well functioning country we have

Negotiation resolves strikes, not more and more restrictive laws. If we keep going down the new laws path, we will be like Russia before we know it

I think they've misjudged the public mood on this one as well. At times there's been a lot of resentment towards strikers when it's seemed they're trying to have their cake and eat it but things are so bad across society right now that there seems to be quite a lot of support for strikers. Why should people side with a government who can't deliver public services and have been a complete shambles for the last few months

bots 09-12-2022 07:20 AM

if they bring in minimum service levels, it's the equivalent of forced labour and that is a very slippery slope to be going on
