Government may use Army at Airports? 10 days strike this month. [Strikes will take place on 23rd to 26th and 28th to 31st December impacting Birmingham Airport, Cardiff Airport, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Manchester and the Port of Newhaven.] [They are due to strike throughout Christmas in a row over pay, jobs and conditions, the Public and Commercial Services union said.] |
Is everyone going on strike? Even one of the factories in my company are doing it
|
Yes, many are saying they are
in need of 15% rise |
everyone needs a pay rise it doesnt mean that every employer can afford it. People have to weigh up whether its better to have a lower salary than none at all, which is a distinct possibility in many cases
|
We have unions for that, but we don't usually strike at our workplace. We usually come to an agreement eventually.

Mark Serwotka in Charge of PCS Union
is saying more have joined his Union in time for this 10 day strike |
|
Bloody hell. Are the post office still on strike as well?

holiday over the Christmas period after Border Force workers became the latest to announce they would go on strike, the home secretary has said. Suella Braverman has urged people to rethink flying around the festive period as she warned of "undeniable, serious disruption for the many thousands who have holiday plans". "I really want to urge people who have got plans to travel abroad to think carefully about their plans because they may well be impacted," she said. "Ultimately, I'm not willing to compromise on security at the border - that's the number one priority.] https://news.sky.com/story/people-sh...stmas-12763822 |

That’s a shame for our heroic , hard working army people :( All those striking are getting extra Christmas period days off but sadly everyone else suffers |

What a very well functioning country we have

Negotiation resolves strikes, not more and more restrictive laws. If we keep going down the new laws path, we will be like Russia before we know it

if they bring in minimum service levels, it's the equivalent of forced labour and that is a very slippery slope to be going on
