England lost, who's to blame?

Wait for the Poll.

Kate! 11-12-2022 08:03 PM

The referee. A million %.

thesheriff443 11-12-2022 08:07 PM

Didn’t watch the game.
At the end of the day it’s just a game of football.

Calderyon 11-12-2022 08:09 PM

Poll ready.

Kate! 11-12-2022 08:11 PM

I honestly believe if it weren't for the ref we'd have won.

Crimson Dynamo 11-12-2022 08:12 PM

the manager is a serial loser

so is the captain

fact

bots 11-12-2022 08:13 PM

it was the england teams fault, they simply weren't good enough. The ref always gets blamed for a teams failings

The fact that there is VAR means that the refs decisions are scrutinised. If they don't think there was an infraction then the game plays out. Everyone knows that football is subjective and people blaming everyone but the team that lost are just bad losers, simple as that

Kate! 11-12-2022 08:15 PM

:nono: the ref is apparently being scrutinised for his poor decisions I heard.

AnnieK 11-12-2022 08:39 PM

Sadly, even if Kane had scored the penalty, I think France would have won in extra time. They were more clinical in box and scored their goals in play. They were the better team on the night

hijaxers 11-12-2022 09:02 PM

Didn't watch but they lost end of.

bots 11-12-2022 09:03 PM

england are out, they are already home. The end

Crimson Dynamo 11-12-2022 09:04 PM

not winners and never have been

Mystic Mock 11-12-2022 09:29 PM

The main one to blame is the Referee, without his mistake in particular for France's first goal, Giroud's goal would've been the equalizer rather than the winner. Leaving the game to be very wide open going into extra time.

Obviously though Kane taking a penalty like he was playing a game of Rugby was beyond shocking to see, at least if Lloris saves it you can at least tell yourself that Kane hit it on target.

And Southgate bringing Grealish on with 2 minutes to go was absurd, plus he was overly cautious against France imo.

You might want to tell the Referee that when he is so die hard on making sure that France wins a shiny cup.

So what's your opinion on all of the blatant fouls that France committed last night? I would 100% support what you're saying if these were 50-50 challenges that are subjective, but tripping up players isn't subjective, they're fouls that the Referee bizarrely kept missing.

joeysteele 11-12-2022 09:46 PM

I'm blaming Southgate mostly.

He picks the team.
He decides the substituted and when they come on.

I don't know what he was watching deep into the second half but the substitution made with only 3 minutes left of ADDED time was bizarre to say the least.

Other factors obviously contributed to the loss but the team he originally sent out and the changes he made and when, were questionable.

Glenn. 11-12-2022 10:04 PM

Well the team were to blame. They’re paid stupid amounts of money to kick a ball in a net. They failed

Did you see the game though?

Because France got away with a lot of rule breaks, and I'm not exaggerating.

are you listening to yourself? Football is a physical game. Players always get away with fouling others. It's part of the game. Sometimes they award a free kick, sometimes they dont, some times someone gets booked, sometimes they dont. It happens every weekend

Yes I see the game. I see Harry Kane kick a ball into outer space. Had we equalised we would have had a better chance of winning. It’s a game of football at the end of the day. Hardly important.

You're not supposed to trip players up, in any Football competition that's against the rules.

And especially when the Referee kept giving France free kicks for an England player walking near them, his agenda was made very clear.

Kane's penalty miss will be an iconic piece of Football trivia in the years to come at least.

Nicky91 12-12-2022 07:44 AM

Harry Kane, as he should've given someone else a opportunity at the 2nd penalty

and the fans a bit, stop with the ''only sing when ur winning'' thing :fist: always stand behind your team pls

Liam- 12-12-2022 08:08 AM

I mean, I’m not a football expert, but if a person or team loses, it’s because they’re not as good as their opposition, so the answer is obvious really

Kazanne 12-12-2022 09:09 AM

I'de put it down to lady luck.
