After that first damaging flurry of punches Eubank was basically out on his feet and his senses were confused.

Nah it wasn't stopped too early at all. Eubank's legs had gone, he was out of it. Had the ref let it continue, Smith would of had a clean shot on Eubank, the ref did Eubank a favour and prevented him from being knocked out cold.
