Circusses, are you a fan of or are you against?

is a interesting topic for debate here i think, considering some circusses had faced some controversy

but are you a fan of circus entertainment?

Nicky91 22-12-2022 09:46 AM

for me, yes i am a fan, but mainly of the Roncalli circus i guess, i have loads of respect for them not using real animals, and being the first in using holographic animals instead

but i guess Casselly circus also is quite nice (even though real elephants are used) and i like their shows in Monaco, which are shown on tv here every christmas (second christmas day/boxing day)

loved the circus in my nation too, am a HUGE fan of clown/acrobat act Bassie & Adriaan, quite a national treasure here for children's tv with their series and films

as well as circus director Robert Ronday, whom used to be a judge on our version of got talent

Its a Traditional Entertainment

They can do them with People
you do not have to have a animal.

The circuses here don't have animals anymore, they're still entertaining though

I remember as a kid going to a circus in Glasgow to see the famous Lion tamer Claude Balzac.

Without animals okay.
Not really something I'd go to however now.

When I was about 10 years old .. I was taken to see the circus at the top of Blackpool Tower - near the end of the show thousands of gallons of water was pumped into the stage and I seem to recall seeing a penguins performance and some other water based critters …. BUT then my wonderment changed to horror as all could think about was all that water and all the electric lights / slot machines directly underneath the stage !!!

Depends.

Animals, no fecking way.

Humans, yes I enjoy a show depending.

Funny you did this thread as I was watching circus acts gone wrong on YouTube yesterday, people literally falling to their deaths

GoldHeart 22-12-2022 11:13 AM

Seen as I've only ever gone to circuses in the UK, they're good & fine . There's no animals and no cruelty .

It's usually very entertaining , with everything from acrobats to swimmers to trapeze artists etc .

AnnieK 22-12-2022 11:29 AM

Not for me - don't like clowns, don't like any animal related acts, not keen on anyone risking their lives for the sake of entertainment.

Vanessa 22-12-2022 11:35 AM

Yes, I love it. The daredevil acts are my favourites!

Kazanne 22-12-2022 12:39 PM

As long as no animals are involved thats ok with me.

look at this, how talentedly flexible she is, here she did that at ZDF's fernsehgarten

youngest child of the Roncalli circus family (whom also recently had confirmed to the media she is very keen on inheriting the family business)

she's also currently the girlfriend of austrian top tennis star Dominik Thiem :D
